Future Gearheads Internship & Apprentice Program

Mission:
At Big Daddy’s Motor Cars we are dedicated to providing high-quality custom car building services to our clients while using our success to “Pay it Forward”. We are fostering the next generation of automotive professionals through our Future Gearheads Internship program. Our mission is to inspire and educate people about the various aspects of custom car building, including bodywork, painting, upholstery, electrical systems, and mechanical systems, and to provide them with hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced mechanics and industry professionals. We believe that by investing in the future of the automotive industry, we can contribute to the growth and success of the industry as a whole as well as make a economic impact.

Objectives:

• Provide students with hands-on experience in a custom car building shop.
• Provide students access to tooling, machinery, and technology not available in the majority of high schools today.
• Introduce students to the various aspects of custom car building, including bodywork, painting, upholstery, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
• Allow students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in a professional setting while still in school.
• Foster interest in the automotive industry and inspire students to pursue related careers.
• Provide opportunities for mentorship and networking with experienced mechanics and industry professionals.
• Creation of a network of shops to provide experience and exposure to other aspects of the automotive industry, but also a network for which students can rotate to.

Economic impact:

• Internship programs contribute to the overall economic growth and productivity of our nation. By nurturing a skilled and knowledgeable workforce, programs such as this help create a pipeline of talented individuals who can contribute effectively to various industries.
• As interns gain practical experience and refine their skills, they become more employable and can contribute to the economy in terms of innovation, productivity, and overall economic output.

Throughout the internship, the student will be mentored by a senior mechanic or supervisor, who will provide guidance and feedback on their progress. If applicable, the program will also include regular check-ins with the student’s school to ensure that the internship meets academic standards and requirements.
